When this porcelain solution has finally set, the separate parts are carefully reassembled. Adhesion is achieved with a further application of the same liquid porcelain. Great care is taken to present a seamless connection with all parts by a fine brushing of a further porcelain mix.
The colouring is vital and a unique range of porcelain colours are finely applied to the unkilned Nao figurine. However, before being placed into the kiln, each figurine is given a thin layer of varnish as a final protection.
A controlled ‘cooking’ for about twenty hours results in a Nao figurine of excellent quality that is appreciated by figurine collectors of all nationalities.
